1st Semester.

Oh yes, it's finally over, and it's time for a fresh start. Most people got prett okay grades, but I guess it's Winter Break that got everyone a little distracted.

Before I get into what's going on this month, I'm sure most people who've read this have heard about the CJHS MySpace hater, a MySpace profile that writes trash talk abbout other people. And you know what, that's not cool. I doubt those people ever did anything to you, so you shouldn't be writing about them.

Moving on, Candy Grams were last week! Just a dollar for sending a bar of Hershey's to someone ;) They were selling compatibility tests too. I have to admit, I liked last years results better, but this time wasn't too bad. Anyways, the Valentine's Day Dance is coming up with our one&only DJ Hightop! I wish it was night dance like last year, but I guess it doesn't matter too much. I encourage 7th graders to go to this dance, because it's your last chance to see DJ Hightop this year, and the next time he's coming is the 8th Grade Promotion Dance.

A four day week, a four day weekend, and another four day weekend. Pretty good.

That's all for now. Talk to you guys next time.

Winter.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy.

I'm REALLY sorry, over a month has passed since I wrote. I'm not even kidding, things are busy right now, and I'm not really in the mood to work right before break. So I'll make this post extra long.

Let's back-track to November. Not much happened, except for Thanksgiving break.

Oh, I forgot about our quarter grades. Not trying to sound like a teacher, but don't let your grades slip just because of holidays. I know from personal experience that grades slip lower to some people because in the beginning of the year, everyone's excited. But when summer vacation comes, people get even MORE distracted. So stop procasinating, and do your work!

December is pretty much my favorite month and there's a lot happening. First of all, everyone is pretty cold in the morning right? Grab a drink in F-1, Mr.Vilkins's room for a cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows! A lot of people are probably worrying you can't drink fast enough, or you'll burn yourself. Don't worry, a lot of teachers usually let you drink in class, as long as you don't make a mess.

Winter Ball 12/4/09. So far, this was the best dance of the year, in my opinion. I loved having a professional photographer, a better DJ, and the fake snow (although it took a while to shake it out of my hair). Part of it sucked, cause the person I liked was dancing with someone else, but that's my personal life. Did you ever notice how the gym is all decorated for a dance, but when you enter it again, it seems so plain? The next dance is in February, a 3-5 P.M. dance, with our one and only DJ: DJ Hightop! :)

You can pick order/pick up your photos you took at the dance the past Thursday, Friday, or this coming Monday. An extra $5 for any other photos you sneaked into.

Third of all: DRESS WARMLY! The fashion part of the blog. I see people t-shirts and jeans. You know, a jacket will never hurt anyone, and bring a lightweight one if you're worried about carrying it around all day. The rain is finally coming, after waiting for so long, so bring umbrellas! Swine flu isn't dying out anytime soon, and I'm pretty sure no one wants to get sick.

I think the next post will be in January, because break is coming, and really. What's there to write about?

A favor to the readers, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let yours friends know, or submit articles about school, teachers, or advice. Greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sincerely,
The Editor

P.S. Happy Holidays
& Have a great New Year!
2o1o should be an interesting year :D

It's Been A While...

WOW.

It's been over a month since I wrote; with all the excitement of this week and piles of homework I've been getting, writing escaped my mind.

Hmm, what's new?
For starters, this week is SPIRIT WEEK :) Show some school spirit by dressing up. Since it was Monday today, I know a lot of people forgot to wear pajamas, including me. I advise you to dress up, it's actually fun when you put some thought into it. Tomorrow is Twin day! Wear something identical as a friend. Remember, dress code applies.

This week is also Red Ribbon week. LIVE YOU LIFE DRUG FREE!

Leadership is also setting up a haunted house at F-1. Try going in for a couple of screams. Available all week, for only a dollar. A piece of advice...try going on Friday, because it's usually the scariest day to go, and worth a buck.

Our second dance is coming up, and all the eighth graders who went to the Halloween dance last year can all agree that the DJ was a little bit boring. But I heard that this year, we're getting a new DJ. Tickets are sold at F-1, for 5 dollars each.

Oh...the quarter is also ending soon at November 3rd. Not to sound like a teacher who nags you, but try to turn in all your work. Most people tend to procrastinate, and I have to admit I'm on of them, but trust me, you don't want to regret not working when you see your quarter grades.

HAPPY EARLY HALLOWEEN! :D

Sincerely,
The Editor

Back to School Dance & LTA

It was the Back to School dance yesterday from 3-5. For most of the seventh graders, this was a totally new experience. Fun and exciting. With DJ Hightop, it was even better. Most eighth graders don't attend because this dance is mostly for the seventh graders. Another reason why most eighth graders chose not to attend is because the dance wasn't at night from 7-9. In my opinion, it wasn't a bad dance. Just a little less exciting than last years.

Another event that happened yesterday at lunch...another lunch time activity hosted by Leadership. Thanks you guys, for making lunch interesting! I saw a lot of people laughing at people lying on the ground, with people standing on top of chairs and throwing ice cream on them. The event was called "Human Sundae." There's usually a lunch time activity every week.

Hope you guys are having a good year so far!

Sincerely,
The Editor

Magazine Drive

It's time for our annual magazine drive! The theme this year is: GAME ON!

To the eighth graders, this was basically a review. We've already seen this assembly last year, but the prizes changed. I think. And I don't remember the exact amount of money we earned, but it was a lot.

I know a lot of people are excited about this, but about I'm predicting that about 1/2 of us probably won't participate. The idea of getting prizes got people talking, but the idea of of selling magazines wasn't too thrilling.

I have to admit some of the prizes ARE pretty cool, like the camcorder or speakers.

To the people who are participating: GOOD LUCK!!! And have fun with your new prizes. Haha. And remember, if you want the mystery prize, you can go online to www.QSP.com, and register online!

A good thing about today, our classes were cut short.

Sincerely,
The Editor

P.S Don't forget, there's going to be Stilt Races tomorrow at lunch. For the seventh graders, I recommend going. Our lunch time activities are pretty entertaining and there's prizes!

First Day Of School 09

So it's our first day back at Centerville Junior High.

Welcome back, eighth graders! And I hope the new seventh graders
(or sevies, as most eighth graders perfer) have two great years at Centerville! :)

A typical first day of school for a lot of people, just seeing old faces again, meeting new teachers, complaining about them, and basically just having fun. There wasn't much for the eighth graders, just an assembly and new distribution room, and some new teachers to get used to. For the seventh graders, I saw the confused looks on some of their faces as they tried to figure out where all the classes were. The transition from sixth grade to junior high is big, so it takes some times getting used to. Good luck, you guys.

There IS one thing that didn't make much sense to me today....

The HAB prizes are still going on.

While we're in an crisis: our buses are no longer available and they barely give enough money for teachers to work with, the school is somehow finding a way to give out electronics as prizes. The prize this month is apparently a DS. I heard someone behind me during the assembly getting excited about the DS, honestly, think about it, there's nearly a thousand people in our school, the chances of winning the prize is slim. I just honestly think that using the money to buy expensive prizes instead of using it for school expenses is just pointless.

That's all for now, hope you guys have a great year!

The Last Post

I will miss this blog, a lot.

Well, today was graduation. It was a loonnngg wait for it to be over and it just breezed by as I knew it. Some awards were given out, some faculty spoke -- not much happened. There were pictures taken after, I really don't remember the actually ceronmony so much. Maybe because it was so depressing.

Some of us went to the dance which was FUN! DJ hightop played and it was just a fantastic night. NEVER WEAR HEELS TO THE DANCE! The DJ played a variety of music and I felt time passing away too fast. I really liked that dance. hmm...

You know, I have been dreading high school up untill today. This last month has been filled with depressing stuff and friendship troubles. Now, I can just leave it all behind me! I will be a new person by the time I get into high school. You watch! This blog has changed me so much in a great way. I know barely anyone reads it, but high school will be better, I hope. Hmmm.. HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!

Sincerely,
The Editor

Nightmare on Puberty Street

Well, that was one fun assembly.

Nightmare on Puberty Street is basically a play about what teens go through during middle school. Some of the things were a little older than middle school, but it didn't detract from the overall performence. They talked about sex, depression, and the sorts.

They adressed a lot of serious stuff. The play was fairly accurate about their depictions. It was funny at times and it kept me interested. The only thing I didn't like that it kept me from my 3rd period class.. :(

I'm glad school is almost over!
