Will Be Gone...

written by The Editor (girl) somebody125@gmail.com

We're taking a leave from writing over the holidays. Besides what are we going to write? Haha

When we're coming back, we'll probably write about the notorious bleachers that we have been fundraising for the better part of a year.

I hope they don't have a glossy finish. I abhor fingerprints. Yet, I am agog to see these new bleachers.

I've been trying some new vocabulary!! Just to let you know.
abhor-loathe, hate
agog-eager, ardent, keen, nuts, raring

Fashion Tip of the Season!

written by The Editor (girl) somebody125@gmail.com

This is mostly for the gals out there, but I guess guys can benefit from it.

So winter is rolling around and I still see kids with T-shirts and shorts.

My! Aren't you freezing? It’s what? 50 F currently on average. Now go get your coats and get ready for winter!

“But I don’t like winter stuff!! They’re baggy and ugly.”

Contrary to popular belief, you can look pretty spiffy in winter clothing. You just have to know some stuff.

LAYERS!!! To the girls, no, I don’t mean a flimsy tank top with an even flimsier T-shirt. On those really cold winter months, having a sweater and a jacket can save your life. Try having a thick jacket on top, then a sweater below, and probably a T-shirt below that. Then, you can peel those layers off as the days become warmer. You can find some really figure friendly jackets that don’t look way to bulky at almost any store.

Why don’t you get a scarf? They are the perfect accessory to brighten up a drab outfit. Don’t get hats because you’ll probably not put them good use; the school doesn’t allow hats on campus unless they’re CJHS hats. Mittens get in the way because it’s hard to write with them.

As for pants, try some khaki pants (or “the oh-so dreaded” slacks) with thermals underneath. Well, you run the risk of it getting hot and thermals are hard to get out of unless you change in the bathroom. I always think sweat pants make you look like you just got out of bed. Try to avoid those if possible.

One last bit of advice, Uggs aren’t worth it. Quite frankly, I find Uggs, ugg-ly. You have to be kidding me with these prices! They’re around 100 bucks a pop. Wear some regular shoes, we don’t live in Alaska (but hey I would love Sarah Palin as governor) so we don’t needs these, over-priced Ugg-ly boots.

Think again next time you’re going to go out in freezing weather. I really don’t find someone freezing to death all that attractive…

Sincerely,
The Editor

Vision/Hearing Testing

Vision/Hearing Testing by The Editor (girl)

Sooo…. It’s not that interesting, but I will decide to comment on it..

Basically all we did was fill out a piece of paper and go do a hearing test..

Beep

Beep

BEEEEEEP

Beeeeeeeeeeep

Beeeeeeep

Now that is done. We went to take our vision test…

Cover right
then left eye.

Done.

Then we go back to our classrooms and try to cram a 45 minute lesson into 15.

That was basically it.

Sincerely,
The Editor

December!

First off… YAY! It’s a minimum day!

We have a little less than two more weeks before winter break. Yet, I still see people wearing tiny skirts with summer T-shirts… I cannot believe how they don’t freeze.

The Winter Dance is this Friday from 7-9 PM. Just to let you guys know.

Now, I’ll give you an update on my personal life. :)

So yeah, about this guy… Every week, I like him even more. I really missed not seeing him over the break. He has been on my mind a lot. I really can’t describe the feeling I get when I talk to him. I really can’t. I always click his e-mail first when I log in and always he responds. I’ve been SO busy this week; I have some of the deepest bags under my eyes. Yet, even when I just feel horrible that day, he makes me happy when I see him. Sometimes, I just think back to something funny he said and I just laugh about it to myself. And those cute little puns he always makes. You know the feeling girls; that really warm feeling in your heart that just makes you purely happy. Wow… I never had such strong feelings. I’m falling for him.

He is just soooooooooooo sweet…. I have never met a guy as sweet as him. I’m getting him a really cute Christmas present, and he said he is making me a homemade one. :) Girls, isn’t that really sweet? Trust me, to all the guys out there, you will win almost any girl’s heart by just making a really thoughtful present. It makes us feel really special. :)

However, I don’t even know if he likes me or not. I have an inclination that he does, but he never said it officially to me.

Oh and just to let you guys know who the guy is... It’s my co-editor on this blog. Teehee.

Sincerely,
The Editor <3

Sorry I haven't posted this earlier, but like I said I was pretty busy the past week..

Your On The Spot Reporter- Turkey Trot (Third Person)

The turkey trot was actually rather uneventful to the spectator, as many people probably know, since there was what might have been a record low turnout for runners. Basically, you stood there as the four groups were let loose, they disappeared around the back, showed up on the other side, and ran around the other part of the field to the finish line.

I'll be back in a week, because I'm out of town, though might have internet access while I'm gone.

Guest Writer -- Turkey Trot

Hmm..

Turkey Trot was fun, I guess. You pay 50 cents to run around. Yeah. Sounds great. Don’t we get enough of that in P.E? Well in P.E. it is at least free.

Haha, no really, Turkey Trot was a great experience! We all got to see one of our favorite teachers, [Mr. Davis], run around in a stuffy ol’ turkey costume. I love the fun atmosphere of it all. There wasn’t the grueling pressure of trying to make the grade. Some of the P.E. teachers give you extra credit or let you skip the mile run! Woooo! How great is that?

So as I’m running, I think to myself “This is going to loooonnggg…” Then the next moment, I was done! It looked so much longer on paper.

So now, I’m at the finish line. I’m panting pretty hard… Then I notice a dozen eyes just staring at me, well all the runner. I mean, why don’t you just run with us instead of staring? It was kind of awkward, but it wasn’t really a big deal.

As I walk into the locker room to change, I noticed I had only 10 minutes to hangout with my friends. Ugghhhhh…. But wait! 15 extra minutes of lunch! How considerate of these people to do that! Yay! That was a nice treat for all of our hard work. :)

Ahhh… Centerville is awesome. :]

Now I wonder. How will the winners carry those giant frozen turkeys home?

Guest Writer -- Chloe S. Teachers

Mr. Houghton- brother had him, and i met him, like...when i was...uhhh...8 or 9 i suppose. somehow, he remembered me!! so yeah. i love his teaching, my brother came back all through high school for math help. He is really nice and a great teacher! the ... – dumb (sorry to be mean!!)...people dont like him. "oh he gives us soo much homework!! his questions are soo hard!!" NOT IF YOU LISTEN TO HIS DIRECTIONS! okay, dont wanna vent..hah. i mean..he tought us how to do really big fractions..I HATED FRACTIONS LAST YEAR!! aand my brother told me how Mr. Houghton tought him how to do 11's. (if other people already knew the shortcut..i'm sorry...i'm not exactly a "smart student" ) so yeah. i freaked out when Blaine [brother] told me the way!! <3

Mrs. Lee- Easy, nice, and fun teacher!! @ the beginning ofthe school year i was all "oh darrrrn!! im going to hate US History!!" but she has made it not the worst subject this year!! Woot!

Ms. Stewart- i don't know what to say about her..shes nice, yeah! (as you can tell, im not in honors anything!! >_< ) she talks about herself sometimes, which is nice to get to know your teachers and know nothing about them! shes funny at times, too.

Mrs. Valazquez- shes pretty nice, but totally is in love with physical education-blech. haha. gotta look forward to homework in pe this year...and a looot more running!

...lunch... i wish they would...change the music up a bit!!!!!!! >.< i gave them a CD i hope they use it!! (asian music btw, and some english, but not mainstream, i dont think)

Mrs. T.- drama is totally fun, and ohh my gosh there are sevies from my elementary school, and my best friend. so it isnt that bad (but she makes you not be with friends when acting. atleast, not yet). i love drama because we can become closer to our teacher, who is a really nice person!!

Mrs. Kaur- i ... hm. sometimes, her accent is hard to understand, but not always! i think she has pretty good english. but there are a lot of...let's say .. loud. people. in my class. and some i dont like. well, i just dont liek the environment very much. but...yeah. science is already hard (again! im not crazily smart & educated! haha) uhh...i really dont know what to say about her! as just a teacher...

Mrs. Kaur & Ms. Stewart were hard to write about, i'm sorry. (changed schedules and so they are like some of the most recent of my teachers that i changed...so yeah apparently i still havent learned much about them)

i really like Centerville! but darrrn...i wish Dr. Mirigian were still here!! and i wish Mr. Rascopp (sp??) was still a science teacher...i wanted him to be my teacher... >_<

okay, randomish thing here just for a second!! my best friend, i have 4 classes in a row with her!! buut my other friend that lives 5 houses away...we have NO classes together..and have NONE of the same teachers...so we cant even do homework together!! :(

okayy...Centerville...is cool ^_^

Interview with Apricot Tang! Secretary of Centerville!

Interview with Apri Tang! Secretary of Centerville!

Woah… It doesn’t sound like a 12-year-old answered these questions… Haha. It’s cool though.

I’m going to put some extra notes to make it fun. :]

(This will be a REALLY long post, because when I typed it on my word processor, it took up around 3 pages.)

1. So what is it like being so involved in school? Is it fun? Is it stressful?

“I have a blast! Having a variety of activities always keeps me busy. It’s definitely super fun. Who doesn’t enjoy playing games at drama club or experiencing new things at science club? The only stressful part is making sure my schedule doesn’t clash with other things. For instance, every month I attend the school cite council meeting. Unfortunately, I have to miss a large sum of science club because of that.”

(Woah! That is one hectic schedule… I spend most of my time on one certain sport. So basically it is, school, sport, eat, sleep. In that order of importance. Haha. I think I would get overwhelmed if I had to choose between my sport and a bunch of clubs.)

Would you rather be a regular student? What kind of decisions do you have to deal with as secretary?

“I know that as a regular student I would help my school out in any way possible. Being secretary just gives me a closer view on what really happens at Centerville. As secretary, I work with student council to approve budgets and to direct the student council meetings. It’s a lot of fun working with everybody.”

(Cool! I know sometimes when I work with people, it just gets into a giant mess and people end up hating me)

2. I would guess that you would like to be a politician when you grow up? Since you are so involved in school and everything.

“Definitely, my goal is to someday become a lawyer for a successful law firm. I’ll see what happens from there. Perhaps you will see me as president of the United States someday.”

(Wow! 12 years old and already have high hopes! I wish the best!)

3. Random Question. What is your favorite color?

“Lol sky blue is my favorite color. It makes a statement without being overpowering."

(really? I think my favorite color would be red because it makes a statement. Period.)

4. So with your busy schedule, how do you have time for boyfriends/crush?
“To tell you the truth, I’m not big on dating. I am twelve-years-old and there are many other things I think about besides boys. Boys do affect my daily life, but when it come to school, dating is not as important.”

(GASP! Finally, someone is on my side. You have the rest of your life for guys! Girls today are waaayyy to caught up with boyfriends/crushes.)

5. How do you deal with the stress that comes with being a secretary and being in so many clubs?
“The stress is quite easy to handle when I know I am helping out my school being secretary and [being] a member of practically all clubs, is fun –not stressful. There is nothing I rather be doing. However, whenever there are stressful moments, I just take a deep breath and just keep on going.”
(Yeah, clubs are fun!)

6. What did it feel like when they said you were secretary?
“It felt quite awkward at first when I was named secretary of Centerville. I originally ran for president, but I lost to [current president] who is a great person. At first when the job was offered to me. I denied it. Then I thought about how I could still help my school out, so the second time I accepted. To this day, I feel proud to say “I’m secretary.” It just took some times to get used to it."

(I am happy you got secretary position!)

7. Did you feel disappointed that you didn’t become president?

“I did at first, but in the end, I lost and that’s it. [current president] is a smart and kind person. I didn’t win, [current president] definitely deserved to [win]. Running against him was hard and I know it was a long-shot. I’m not the type of person to just cling onto a situation. I lost! And I just let it go.”

(I don’t think it was a long-shot! A lot of people voted for you)

8. Do you like Centerville? Does anything at Centerville bother you?
“I love Centerville, it’s a kind and friendly environment to learn in. The people are fun and extremely high-spirited. There is truly nothing I dislike about Centerville. I have everything I need and more.”

(I totally agree! Our school is not plagued by cliques like other schools. I truly feel happy to go to school at Centerville.)

9. Are you really smart (get A’s in every class)?
"Well, I could be considered smart. I have all honors and I have a 4.0 GPA. School is fun; therefore, it makes it easy for me to enjoy learning."

(I agree, my thirst for knowledge is never quenched.)

What are your plans after junior high and high school? What kind of college would you like to go to? What kind of life do you want to lead?

“My plans after school is[are] to hopefully attend Yale University and major in law. I want to lead a life where I can change people’s life for the better.”

(Yale is really hard to get into… I have the same goal of trying to change people’s life for the better.)

10. Who is your favorite teacher?

“I have many favorite teachers. Mrs. Hummel, Mrs. T, Mr. Vilkins, and Mr. Ureno are just some of them. These techers make me laugh and learn, what more could I ask for?”

(All my friends say their favorite teacher is Mrs. Stark)

11. Do you like your life?

“I love my life. Everything and everyone in my life is the best! Nothing can stop how great of a time I am having right now!”

(Yay!)

12. Did you try to scare the person who sent this? (I hope you didn’t haha)

“Lol, I did, but just a little.”

(Yeah, my friend said that haha)

13. Do you like the blog we made?

“I think it’s a great way to show how great Centerville is!”
(Yes! That is why I made it! Centerville is awesome!

Thanks for answering the questions!

“Ur welcome!”

Sincerely,
Apricot Tang
Secretary of Centerville

Volleyball game! Teachers vs. Students

BUMP! SET! SPIKE!

Oh man, it was an awesome game. It think there were… about I would say, more than half of the student body in that one gym watching the teachers and students duke it out.

All the teachers did a great job! I know I wouldn’t be able to have a billion eyes on me and try to do well. I remember once, LeCount and Davis bumped and set up the ball… Then BAM! Yamagata just spiked it down. I would have been afraid of that ball… haha. It was so great. Tippetts had one mean serve, I think they won a bunch of points just off that serve. Some teachers even got up the guts to join in! Which made it more fun!

The students did a spectacular job too! I remember one person dove for the ball a couple of times… I hope she wasn’t hurt. :] There was also a girl who had a killer serve, the students won a good number of points just off of that serve.

I didn’t pay attention too well, to my regret, but I liked the fun atmosphere of it all. We never really get to see teachers get out of their “teacher mode” and into “fun mode” AWWWWwwww… Now that I think back, I remember my friends telling me there was a super long exchange that happened. It was really heart breaking for one side to lose a point when they tried so hard. Uggghhh… I paid attention for most of the game, but in the last 15 minutes or so, my mind wandered elsewhere.

Sadly, I didn’t get the score either. I think I wrote the scores down somewhere, but I just misplaced it. Hopefully I will find them again. Hehe :]

I can’t wait for the next one!!!!

Sincerely,
The Editor <3

Obama won! (the article)

As you most definitely know, Obama won the Presidency. In my opinion (and my parents, who I'm practically quoting) this is good. After the -ahem- last leaders of the country screwed this place up so badly, it's nice to have someone who knows what he's doing and talking about. My family certainly won't worry when Obama goes to greet a foreign dignitary.

Of course, once we get the nation balanced out again, we don't want to go all Democrat. If we do, all the social programs will be voted in and sucking the money out of everything. This is why there are multiple parties, and why the government is set up the way it is.

Keep in mind that these are just my family's ideas and standpoint, and not the view of the school's or specifically anyone else's.

November!

The rain hasn't let up.... I still hear the gentle pitter patter of the rain drops as they hit the ground. I had plans today, but they were ruined. :( Now I am just bored, and I have nothing else to do...

Anyways.....

This month, I am really excited for Thanksgiving. Ooo, I could smell the turkey right now.

Quarter ends soon! Yikes! It always takes you by surprise how the year come so fast. After this, the semester will end. The year passes by way too fast. I know project season is coming up, all of the projects seem to be all at 2nd quarter and 4th quarter.. I am always so stressed during that time. I don't know why all the teachers seem to have a project at this time, this is the holiday season!

Yeah, I'll deal with it though.

It is so odd that on the 1st day of November, there is so much rain. Usually it starts in the middle of November, but this year, it is smack-dab on the 1st and it is pretty heavy rain. I don't have much winter clothes yet, so I'll be freezing for a couple of weeks. I hope some of these girls at school will finally be wearing a jacket, or longer pants.

____________________________________________________________________

Now this is what you guys are all waiting for. An update on my personal life.

Well um.. The guy I like that I told you in my October article, well I told him that I liked him and it was really awkward and we just pretty much ignored it. I don't know if he likes me back, but it is just...... Everyday, I like him even more. He is just... Not like any other guy. He is really sweet... I would tell you what he did, but that would probably totally give away my identity. It's really weird, being my 1st crush and all, sometimes I don't know how to feel. We were friends first, before all this happened, pretty good friends.

When I told him, I was afraid that I would lose his friendship, that it would wreck everything. It is really different. I see other girls who go for guys who the barely know, but I know everything about him. For other girls, all they do is flirt with the guy, playing cat and mouse. With him, we are really good friends. I know his birthday, favorite color, his interests, and other random facts about him. I fell for him because of his personality, his boyish charm..... and it is just so confusing.

He makes me laugh everyday, and I always smile when I see him. He does some of the most sweetest things. He is never afraid to be different, even when others laugh. I feel like I'm talking to my one of my gal pals when I talk with him. Yet, my heart skips a beat sometimes. Aggghhhhh it is so weird.

I can't decide.

Just to let you know, I post personal articles usually the 1st or 2nd of every month.

Sincerely,

The Editor <3

Halloween!

Ahhhhhh Halloween was really fun! I went to the dance at school and it really wasn't really that fun... It was fun to hang out with my friends though.

I went trick-or-treating! I love doing it every year, even though I'm pretty old. I got a bag full of candy, which I think I ate half of the bag yesterday and there is probably 1/4 of the bag left. Haha, I'm was really hyper after I ate all the candy.... SO hyper, I was pretty much bouncing off the walls.

The houses were really nice to look at, I liked how people spent so much time for this one day.. It made the entire holiday so special. Thinking back, I should have left a note or something thanking them for doing that...

The candy companies must make a bunch off of this holiday.

But alas, the rain came. The rain pretty much spoiled my evening. Why did it have to rain on the year when Halloween is on Friday?

The teachers were really nice on Friday, I have pratically no homework this weekend! Yay! The school even let us wear our costumes to school! I mean I know a ton of other schools who don't let you do that.

Halloween was awesome.

On a side note, the election is 3 days away!

Kids Voting

Hey guys, I'm sorry for not posting. I hope you guys like this one though!

So… Today, we went to “vote” in one of the rooms on the A wing. It was pretty simple, I got a piece of paper, wrote in what I thought, and just turned it in.

Simple as it was, there was still so much debate between the presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain. There were people yelling “Vote for Obama!” or “Vote for McCain!” everywhere you looked. Most kids didn’t even know what they were talking about. I recall somebody saying “Obama is a socialist,” but when ask what “socialist” meant, he was dumbfounded.

Now, I’m trying to remain totally neutral in this, so I’m not looking for fights.

But seriously, research your facts people! I mean, half of the people I am hearing say this stuff don’t know a thing they are saying. Personally, I hate talking about politics, all it will lead to are arguments. It is getting a tiny bit annoying of kids shoving in my face half-baked lectures, about stuff they barely know about. In fact, I am sick and tired of this! I actually have a brain (yes, I am also amazed) I don’t need another person to make a decision for me. Please, don’t call me stupid or narrow minded for not following your beliefs. Don’t try to force ideas on me when I don’t on you!

So enough with the rant..

I, myself, don’t have that much experience about politics and voting. I know a scarce amount of knowledge of the candidates. I know just enough to make a decision.

I guess that is why they don’t let 13-year-old’s vote.

Sincerely,
The Editor <3

Procrastination

Wow, I procrastinated on my “procrastination” article. Sorry for not posting this up sooner, but I was pretty busy the past week.

Okay, let’s get back on subject. Procrastination is the thing that makes you go from an A student to a B student. That pesky thing of doing things on time, studying and using your time wisely. I used to be a huge procrastinator back when I was a sevie.

For me, I procrastinate because I fear it will not be perfect. Others procrastinate for being overwhelmed.

How do you solve this?

Don’t try to quit cold turkey, it will probably not work. You have to deceive yourself. For me to get anything done, I must have a deadline, a due date of some sort. I usually procrastinate on it, and I do all my other homework to avoid doing the project. I get stuff done, so it is better than sitting there and doing nothing. You will feel less overwhelmed at what you have to do, and will like your progress that you made on your project.

School rarely gives your breaks between multiple projects, so just use each deadline on top of each other. Something else is due? You work on your project to procrastinate on your other project.

Need some tips you probably already know? Here you go.

1. Always do your homework when it is assigned, use your class time to do homework if the teacher lets you.

2. Do the easiest stuff first, so you get more done without feeling overwhelmed.

I hoped it help! Now I must get back to working on my project.

Sincerely,
The Editor

Sleep

Sleep is the first thing we think about in the morning, and the last thing we think about at night. It is an addiction that we have since birth, you can’t live without it, and you get withdrawals if you don’t have enough.

Now really, who has the time to dedicate 8 hours of lying there and doing nothing? There are tests to study for, projects to finish, sports to practice for, kids to feed, dishes to be washed, rooms to be cleaned… the list goes on.

Don’t get me wrong, I love being a completely lifeless zombie, with uncombed hair, 5 minutes to get dressed and deep bags under my eyes. Then dragging myself to school and being a complete jerk to everyone I meet.

Okay, enough with my ramblings. How do you combat this? Well….

The best cure for sleepiness is sleep. There is simply no other substitute. No amount of caffeine or Red Bulls will ever cure your sleepiness than sleep.

How about making a schedule? Pfft this advice, if you don’t have enough time to sleep, you probably don’t have enough time to make a schedule…

Here is the secret, the one that probably almost the most obvious cure for sleepiness.

DO NOT PROCRASTINATE
Out of all the little “secrets” out there, this is the most helpful and obvious. If you can finish a project finish it, don’t cram and do an all-nighter. When you get home from school, start doing your homework, don’t wait until it is too late.

I’m going to write an article about procrastination tomorrow or Friday, so check back soon!

Wow, I found this to be very poorly written, see what happens when you don’t get enough sleep? You can’t concentrate as much. I think this was a half rant half helpful article... I really do need more sleep...

Do you guys get enough sleep?

WOW!!! I just noticed our page was "black, white and read/red all over" Our links are red and everything else is black amd white... Haha.

Any ideas?

What do you guys want to see on the blog? What topics do you want us to discuss?

We are totally open to guest authors. It's no questions asked if you e-mail us. You can talk to us too if you want, we don't bite. (or maybe we do :P) You guys can also make an anonymous e-mail account and e-mail us... just title it "Guest author" or something.. We like talking to our readers, it makes us feel special... :)

Seriously, a guest author would be really nice, I like reading other people's views.

We were also thinking about making an "about us" article soon, so you guys get to know us better. Stuff like "why did you make the site?","favorite band?".. and whatever you were wondering about us.

We were thinking of having one of our readers e-mail us a list of questions for us to answer.. However, seeing at the low magnitude of readers there are, it might not work very well. Whoever e-mails us will have their questions and answers posted... (we will combine the questions if more than one person e-mails us)

Do you guys want to get to know us? Just e-mail us, we almost always respond back.

Sincerely,
The Editor <3

Archery

I must say, archery is quite interesting. Think about it. People stand there with a piece of wood/plastic/metal and use Elastic Potential Energy (go science! lol) to launch a stick of (in this case) metal at a hunk of foam. Incredibly, this is fun. Granted, there's a lot of skill in figuring out how to aim the 'durn thing,  and that's what makes it worthwhile. In about two seconds after reaching full draw, one must aim  inexactly at a target, hope it goes the right direction, and then release while not wiggling from the 20-odd pounds suddenly released from you arm.

Air conditioning

Tons of teachers are complaining how the air conditioning doesn’t work, especially some teachers. (*cough* Mrs. Stark *cough*) I agree with them, some classrooms are simply unbearable to sit in.

1. Just deal with? No we won’t. Our parents pay good tax money to keep the school operational. Some basic air conditioning is all we ask. If you have money to fix the air conditioning at the district office, then you have money to fix ours.

2. How about the teachers? The teachers work as many hours as most people at the district office, maybe even more. They probably get less pay than people at the district office. They should be comfortable in their classrooms. Sorry, teachers aren’t cacti (I believe), they can’t just work in an 85 degree weather (or 30 degrees to the nerds ha-ha just kidding) they are people. They deserve basic air conditioning. (you can call me teacher's pet now)

I am not asking for a blizzard in the classroom, just some air conditioning would be nice.

Would you want to sit in a room that was hot like the Sahara Desert?

Sincerely,
The Editor <3

October!

Well technically, It's 1 minute after october started. 12:01 A.M. to be exact is my time. Yes, I'm tired, I'm not even sure what I am writing, I might delete this in the morning.. I really don't know. I have an assignment I should be working on, but I'm doing this, great... I hope I finish it. My history class changed to Mrs. Wilhite, which really isn't that important, but if anyone who is trying to find out who I am, I guess there is a clue for you.

Enough about me, let's talk about school! Intramurals are starting again, around next week, with Mr. Gherke. I'm happy Mr. Gherke didn't leave because I couldn't imagine another teacher teaching all these intramurals. He totally deserves the gym being named after him, he is just awesome.

Halloween! I love the atmosphere of Halloween. All the Pumkins, trick-or-treaters, the costumes to dress up in, it can honestly say that Halloween is my favorite time of the year. The trees will start to turn different colors, I can't wait! I think there is a Halloween dance this year, I'm not sure, I never went last year, I wonder what it would be like this year.

Now in the middle of the night, all I can think about is my crush. This really has no place on this blog, but there is always the delete option! I'm pretty tired now, I don't know what I am doing.. He is the sweetest and smartest guy ever, not the cutest, but looks don't matter to me. I'm not much of a pretty girl myself anyways. I don't think he likes me; he only thinks of me as a friend. I'm okay with that, I just like talking to him. He is a really interesting person once you get to know him. He is my first crush (now you say you Awwwwss) yeah 8th grade is kinda late, but I'm just a late bloomer I guess.

Our blog has lasted a month! Yay! Let's celebrate with a month-aversary, haha. I hope this blog will last a year! I might tell you guys who I am if this blog lasts an entire school year.

I hope I don't regret this.

Do you guys like personal entries like this? I can start doing these at the start of each month or something, tell me your opinion.

Sincerely,
The Editor <3

Cutting the Line

Every lunchtime, kids meander, speed walk, and run (though they are not supposed to) over to the lunch lines in order to eat before pigs fly before the end of lunch. Of course, there are those kids* who have no regard for any rules whatsoever, and therefore cut the lunch line. NO! In life there's no cutting lines! Do you people (as in the ones who cut the lines) honestly think that our principal sends you to the back because she enjoys torturing people? Once again, NO! What's worse is that these people don't learn. I've seen the same people get sent to the back day after day. Any sensible person would think that they would eventually just wait it out or walk faster. As my favorite saying says:

"Too bad common sense is not more common."

*hm, probably the same kids that text during class...

Fashion

Baggy jeans

Everybody has seen it, guys with their pants down to their knees and some giant shirts. I have to ask you guys some questions.

1. How do you guys walk? Seriously, if some teacher is chasing you down, how do you think you will get away? Yeah, yeah, I know, you may think that teachers walk slower than snails, but when you are waddling like a penguin with your pants down to your ankles, a teacher will catch up with you. Most likely you will fall, and a snail can catch up with something not moving. Ha-ha, teachers are faster than you think!

2. Belts don’t bite. If you have enough money to buy a $150 pair of shoes, then you have enough money to buy a $5 belt.

Girl’s fashion

Of course, I’m a girl, I totally know about girl’s fashion, sometimes I think it is ridiculous.

Now, if you ever meet me, you know I am such a hypocrite because I wear tight jeans all of the time. Now of course you will never meet me, because I’m so great that I don’t deal with common people. (I’m just kidding) Seriously, I’ll just tell you what my friends think of it.

1. Skin tight jeans. How do you girls survive the entire day wearing that stuff? I mean I’ve worn tight jeans, and I’m just itching to get home and change. You can never bend down, you can barely walk, and it is just exhausting to wear it.

2. Makeup. Personally I find makeup unneeded for junior high school girls. If you ever go to the girl’s bathroom before school, you will find a good number of girls standing in front of a mirror doing their make up or styling their hair with water. That’s why it’s always wet there in the morning. Every single person is pretty in their own way, don’t worry so much about makeup. If you really want to, have your mom put on the makeup, sometimes I see girls caked with it.

3. Preparation. Do guys know how much time it takes for some girls to look pretty? Some of my friends wake up really early, just to make themselves look pretty for school. That is not necessary; school is about LEARNING, not about social life. I usually wake up 10 minutes before I have to go and just throw on something and brush my teeth.

Sincerely,
The Editor <3

Fire Drill

Not the most interesting topic, but I guess I’ll comment on it.

Teachers said to stay in a single file line. Ha-ha, no one did that.

Teachers said to not talk while in line. Ha-ha, no one did that.

Teachers said to follow the person in front of you. Ha-ha no one did that.

Personally, I like the fire drills; it gives me some time to stretch my rigid body. I almost fell out my chair when the alarm sounded; it was especially loud in my classroom. A ton of kids in my class came in late, because they got “lost.” These drills are pretty orderly, considering they are evacuating around 1000+ people. I’ve been to other schools where it was complete chaos whenever they had a fire drill.

Just one question teachers. What happens if the grass was on fire?

Expulsion?

Today a woman came and talked about these ways of getting expelled. I wholeheartedly agree.

1. Just don't bring it. You are endangering the lives of staff and students by bringing a knife or gun to school.

2. You are endangering others. Even if you have no intention of using it, a person could steal it from you and use it against other kids or staff.

3. It's not just a toy. Police officers don't see a difference from a toy gun from a real gun. When you are kidding around with your buddies and pointing it at them, police officers think you are trying to start something.

4. You don't need it. I walk home from school almost everyday. I never was attacked. Also, a toy gun, that even slightly look likes a real gun, will be a target for theft. Don't put yourself in danger by bringing around weapons.

Don't put everybody around you in danger. Don't bring them to school.

Sincerely,
The Editor <3

Mr. Fields (taught history last year)

Sadly, at the end of last year one of my favorite teachers retired. He could teach history like no one else I had ever could.

And yet none but a few students respected him. No one (but few) listened to his incredibly interesting history lectures, no one (but few) did the measly amount of writing required to pass every single one of his simple tests, no one (but few) actually did their homework when they were assigned it, and everyone (but the few that were enlightened to his greatness) was incredulous about how their grade was an F.

Mr. Fields, if you ever read this, I hope you know that at least one student came to your class to learn, rather than talk about their worthless lives that will never amount to anything but McDonalds or worse yet Arby's.

Pompous and gloomy arcticle, no?

Be yourself.

In junior high, all you want to do is fit in. Don't change who you are just to get friends. You'll end up regretting it.

1. Don't leave old friends behind. Those people were there for you from the very start. They liked your inside, not your outside.

2. You might not like it. It must seem great how those other kids have all this popularity and seem to have so much fun. Most of them will have different ideals than you, they might be a bad influence and lead you to the wrong path.

3. You won't talk to them after highschool. After doing all that work to please people, to buy special clothes, and sacrificing so much, you probably won't even talk to them after highschool. It's true, ask anybody on the street and they will tell you that they almost never talk to their highschool classmates. Don't waste your time, just stick with people you are comfortable with.

4. Bad influences. You want to have a successful career after college right? You can't do that with addictions to drugs and alchohol. Don't change, don't cave in to peer pressure to fit in. You'll regret it later.

5. They won't be your true friends. When you get teased on, they won't come by your side to help you. They will probably be teasing you too. If you fall, they will probably not even care. Stick with you old friends and they'll come to help you no matter what.

Just be yourself.

The Editor

Now Really? Magazines!? (2)

I agree on Anony on this one, on most things, but not all.

The school needs money, I mean with all these cuts, they have to get it somewhere. However, I just don't like that they have to brainwash kids with these foolish prizes, and celebreties.

The real thing I'm angry about is that they talk to us like elementary school kids. I still can't believe at this age, people are so intrested on weird glasses and trick wallets.

This program lies to us, it's deceiving, just like how all the companies are. They want our adresses because they can send junk mail. Companies pay money for phone numbers or information on people so they can call. All this company has to do is give a trick wallet to have 5 adresses. Do you know how much money it costs to get that? You just gave the company that information for just a small prize.

Ha-ha, they never said that they would send junk mail in their little presentation right? All they said was that you get 5 adresses you get a prize.

The Bottom line is, I dislike how this magazine program tricks us to do so much work for little prizes. I'm just dissapointed kids think this way and that the school is encouraging it. There are billions of other ways to get money, why choose this?

Sincerely,
The Editor <3

Now Really? Magazines!?

I'm sure that everyone at Centerville can agree that the Magazine-sale-drive-thingy is the worst way to earn money for the school (that is legal). I give you these reasons:

1. WHO THE FREAKING HECK WANTS MORE MAGAZINES!? DON'T WE HAVE ENOUGH!? AND WHY CAN'T WE RENEW THE NORMAL WAY!?

2. The prizes are STUPID. Example: The second to highest is an iPod nano (third gen). Mind you that this is today that they told us this. Wasn't there an Apple press conference yesterday specifically on iPods!? The Highest prize is an iPhone. First Generation. 4gig capacity. GET WITH THE TIMES YOU IDIOTS!

3. They want you to give them the addresses of relatives so that they can send them what is effectively junk mail. Must I say more?

4. It would be easier just to directly hand the school a check.

What's your take Student?
