Hush Day

Hush days are fun!  I think it's a cute idea and a good fundraiser for the school.  I heard about 400 bottons were sold on boy's hush day.  I didn't participate because the buttons were so expensive.

Girls' Hush Day is basically a day where girls try not to talk to any boys.  If they do, then they have to give their buttons to a guy that made them talk.  Boys' Hush Day is pretty much the same things except with girls.

Jeez, time has past fast.  Almost the end of the school year...  Hmm..  I'll miss doing this blog.  Hey, I might make a washington high blog maybe.  hmm..

Gum chewing

A ton of people chew gum at school. I'll admit that I have been one of them... once or twice. I can understand the rules, but I don't know why people deliberately break them. I think gum chewing has become more than just a way to keep the school clean. From what my friends say, kids do it nowadays to oppose the "administration." I really don't see the use of chewing gum.

Ugghhh I hate finding them on the desks though...

Sincerely,
The Editor

Confidence

Most of my friends have confidence issues. They won't do anything unless someone else is there to do it with them. They're scared of being judged -- the disappointment.

I was pretty much the same. I was the shy one, the one who always sat in the corner. Now, I guess, I've discovered my confidence. A close relative died a year ago, which made me think about how life is so short. It's a waste to be shy. I've been making more friends. What people think of me has not worried me much. Yet, nowadays, I've been questioning that.

People expect me to be this person. To always be a person who is happy and bubbly. The risk-taker, the one who doesn't care what people think about. They expect me to selflessly do things for them. They expect things from me when they need them. Yet, I never get anything back in return.

I don't want to complain, but it's just been gnawing at me for months.

Sometimes, I just feel like my family life is falling apart at the seams. I would say that school is my escape. Hmm.. that's another story though.

But I have to put up this act. "I'm great and happy!" when I'm really not. "I'm sorry" when it was never my fault. I have to be the model student. The one who all the teachers love. The one who gets the highest grades. The one who behaves. The one who leads. The one who knows what to do. I sit and listen to all my friends problems. I nod and sympathize. I try to be comforting. I always ask everybody how they are doing. Yet when I need it, it's not there.

I hate bottling up my emotions. I really wish someone could listen to me. Just listen.

If you knew me. I would probably be the last person you'd think would write this.

Meh, this is just teenage angst talking probably.

Sincerely,
The Editor

Sorry for my very annoying article. :) I just had to let it out.

End of the School Year stress

The school year is almost over... only a couple of weeks left. The school year passes by so fast.

Grrr... why do teachers have to make all those big projects due now? I have series of projects to do and finals to take. I remember I only slept a couple hours a night last year in 7th grade during these weeks. I'm still excited though. 8th grade is a lot easier than 7th grade, but it only gets harder from here on out. I'll miss it. People are moving and it is sad. hmmmm... Soon, 8th grade will be a distant memory. I love change, but this a bittersweet time for me. I guess everything has to change.

Sincerely,
The Editor

Elections

So today was student council speeches. I'm really amazed how those people can go up there and just talk in front of 400+ students.

They were pretty good. Besides, the whole election is always a popularity contest. Most people don't even listen to speeches... I won't criticize them because it takes guts to speak in front of hundreds like that.

Tomorrow we vote!

Sincerely,
The Editor

Those little blue bracelets

"Take a second and make a difference"
I love that.

"Ooooo what is that cool bracelet??!?!"

"Ohh you get them if you're good and nice to people"

Leadership has successfully launched a great thing. They got all the popular kids handing out these bracelets. Everyone wants one. It's suddenly cool to be good. (Yes, I'm still shocked) xD

I'm glad leadership is doing this, but they probably cost a lot. I'd rather spend money on this than on HAB prizes. They're easy to wear and are just plain awesome. They support the idea of being just nice to everybody. hmmm... It is really a great idea.

Sincerely,
The Editor
