Welcome back, eighth graders! And I hope the new seventh graders
(or sevies, as most eighth graders perfer) have two great years at Centerville! :)
A typical first day of school for a lot of people, just seeing old faces again, meeting new teachers, complaining about them, and basically just having fun. There wasn't much for the eighth graders, just an assembly and new distribution room, and some new teachers to get used to. For the seventh graders, I saw the confused looks on some of their faces as they tried to figure out where all the classes were. The transition from sixth grade to junior high is big, so it takes some times getting used to. Good luck, you guys.
There IS one thing that didn't make much sense to me today....
The HAB prizes are still going on.
While we're in an crisis: our buses are no longer available and they barely give enough money for teachers to work with, the school is somehow finding a way to give out electronics as prizes. The prize this month is apparently a DS. I heard someone behind me during the assembly getting excited about the DS, honestly, think about it, there's nearly a thousand people in our school, the chances of winning the prize is slim. I just honestly think that using the money to buy expensive prizes instead of using it for school expenses is just pointless.
That's all for now, hope you guys have a great year!
